Academics
The quality of its physical education courses represents the overall level of a university's sports program. Tsinghua's physical education curriculum runs throughout the entire undergraduate experience, adhering to the educational philosophy of "putting education first, and emphasizing both physical fitness and character, as well as the "trinity" educational concept.
As of July 2020, the Department of Physical Education has received a total of 13 teaching achievement awards at various levels, including 1 second-class national award, 2 first-class and 1 second-class Beijing municipal awards, and 3 first-class and 6 second-class university-level awards. One course has been named a National Elite Course, one a Beijing Municipal Elite Course, and three as Tsinghua University Elite Courses.

● In 2012, the "Beach Volleyball" course, led by Zhao Qing, was named a Tsinghua University Elite Course.
● In 2014, the "Intermediate Swimming" course, led by Zhang Wei, was named a Tsinghua University Elite Course.
● In 2016, the "Third-Year Women's Wushu" course, led by Wang Yulin, was named a Tsinghua University Elite Course.
● In 2017, the "Soccer and Science" course, led by Sun Baojie, was named a National Elite Online Open Course.
