Research
Characterized by its "international perspective, national standing, and interdisciplinary approach, the Physical Education discipline at Tsinghua has leveraged the university's comprehensive multidisciplinary strengths to achieve significant progress. It has been established as a first-level discipline with master's and doctoral programs and a postdoctoral research station. To date, it has enrolled and trained over 450 doctoral and master's students. The department houses 9 major research centers and 5 laboratories, including three provincial/ministerial and university-level research centers: the Key Research Base of Sport Social Sciences of the General Administration of Sport, the Tsinghua University Research Center for Sports and Health Science, and the Tsinghua University Institute for Sports Development. In recent years, the department has secured over 80 national and provincial/ministerial-level research projects with funding exceeding 57 million RMB, published more than 110 monographs and textbooks, and presented over a thousand papers in domestic and international professional journals and scientific conferences. Among these, over 150 have been indexed by SCI and EI. It has obtained over 40 patents and has consistently ranked among the top in four consecutive Ministry of Education Discipline Assessments.
