Research Areas

1. Development of a big data platform for smart health management across the full life cycle (including construction of AI systems such as a sub-health risk screening and assessment system, an exercise prescription expert system, a nutritional diet prescription expert system, a psychological adjustment expert system, a lifestyle management expert system, an expert system for non-pharmacological physical intervention methods, and an expert system for traditional Chinese medicine wellness techniques);

2. Development of a big data AI analysis platform centered on athlete competitive performance and targeted at competitors, providing full-cycle, integrated training monitoring, scientific and technological support, and breakthroughs in key technologies (including integrated monitoring of technical movement analysis, physical training, fatigue recovery, psychological counseling, nutritional planning, and treatment of sports injuries, as well as breakthroughs and innovations in new techniques).



Awards and Honors

1. April 30, 2022, the team led by Zhang Bing received recognition for scientific and technological support under the "Science and Technology for the Winter Olympics (2022) Action Plan" by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. (Supported the national pair skaters Sui Wenjing and Han Cong in winning the gold medal);

2. April 2022, received the "Advanced Individual for the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics" award from Tsinghua University;

3. April 18, 2022, received the "Tribute to Diligence Award" from China Ice and Snow at the "China Ice and Snow Night" event hosted by the General Administration of Sport, China Media Group, People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, for serving as the Scientific Director of the National Figure Skating Team for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, where the pair skaters won gold and the team achieved a historic best of fifth place;

4. January 2022, received the 2021 Excellent Paper Award from the Chinese Journal of Biotechnology after a retrospective evaluation showed that his paper "The Development and Challenges of Gene Editing Technology" ranked in the top five for citations and downloads for three consecutive years in databases such as CNKI and Scopus (data as of Dec 28, 2021) (certificate attached);

5. August 2020, awarded as an Outstanding Master's Thesis Supervisor at Tsinghua University;

6. 2010, received the Y.C. Jeme Teaching Excellence Award from Tsinghua University;

7. 2006, the paper "Establishment of animal model stimulating altitude training" won the First Prize for Excellent Paper from the Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine (English Edition);

8. 2005, the paper "A Survey and Analysis of Dietary Nutrition and Body Composition of Adolescent Female Divers in the Tsinghua University Diving Team Preparing for the 2008 Olympics" won the Second Prize for Excellent Paper from the Chinese Association of Higher Education;
